Have you seen this bike..
Here's a link to the ebay auction, that ended suddenly...

I think somebody here in Portland bought it "offline" or through craigslist.  It was a fairly rare Pegerotti Deunde that has been stripped of its one-of-a-kind paintjob.  curious?  I think so.  Please let me know...

Finally...

Today the Portland Police arrested the guy who was involved in selling some of my stuff on ebay.  He gets to go to jail for a while.  So far I have not recovered my bikes, but for now the guy is out of business.

Once I get my thoughts together, I intend to lay out the entire story here.  Check back, will ya?

It gets better...

Yesterday, I met up with the guy who was selling my fork on ebay.  I was a tad bit nervous and I think my wife was going to kill me for getting involved.  At this point, for me, it's no longer about my bike, or fork, it's about shutting this guy down.

I 'll let you be the judge...

Serial number on the box that was stored in my garage from the fork I lost back in December:

Serial number from the back of the fork I just purchased off ebay:

Stop Thief...

Back in December, our house was broken into, and 4 of my bikes were stolen.  Johathan Maus wrote about it in his blog.

Fast forward to this past Monday, when I received a call from a guy who had just won an auction for a bike that matched the description of one of my stolen bikes.  Thanks to him, and the portland police detective working the case, I might get one of my bikes back.  Stay tuned...

I'm car-free again
I sold my truck last week.  I have a love/hate relationship with automobiles.  I didn't "own" a car until I was in my mid-20's.  The first car I owned was a '68 Chevrolet Bel-Air.  I bought it from my father's friend for the price of a new battery.  It served me well for a few years and then I traded it for a 6-pack of beer.  I upgraded to a '69 Chevrolet C-20 Camper Special.  I should have never sold that truck but I had a 40 mile roundtrip commute each day and the gas will killing me.  So I bought a little Mazda pick-up, which was a great car, but a growing family meant something a little bigger......enter the Mazda MPV.  Again, a great car, it was a manual 4x4 mini-van.  When we moved to Portland, I sold it thinking that we could be a one-car family.  That worked for a few years until I had some money buring a hole in my pocket and found a '72 Chevy C-20.  It sat in my driveway most of the time, I drove it a total of 800 miles, which was 100 gallons of gas.
